Version One Productions, Inc. is a full-service independent production company based in Boston, MA.

Founder and principal Brittany Huckabee’s experience making documentaries spans more than ten years and includes principal filmmaking credits on five documentaries and two weekly series that were broadcast nationally on PBS, including the three-hour documentary series HEAVEN ON EARTH: THE RISE AND FALL OF SOCIALISM (2005). She served as a 2006-2007 Filmmaker-in-Residence at WGBH, Boston’s award-winning PBS station.

Her most recent project and first independent film, THE MOSQUE IN MORGANTOWN, premiered nationally on PBS on June 15, 2009.

She is currently developing a new project, tentatively titled BORDER GIRLS, exploring human trafficking in Nepal.

Brittany works as a producer, director, editor and camera operator. Her primary interests as a filmmaker include religion and its intersection with culture, human rights and women's issues.

BORDER GIRLS follows two young Nepali women who operate a surveillance unit on their country’s southern border. Working alone, they rescue up to 200 girls every month from traffickers headed to India. By delving into the lives of these women and into the heart of their culture, BORDER GIRLS will provide a unique look at how trafficking happens and how it can be stopped.    Project Stage: Development

THE MOSQUE IN MORGANTOWN is filmmaker Brittany Huckabee’s latest work, broadcast nationally on PBS in June 2009. The film chronicles what happens when a Muslim feminist launches a campaign against what she sees as extremism in her West Virginia mosque, throwing the community into turmoil and raising questions that cut to the heart of American Islam.
